Macbeth Creative Eulogy Essays - Characters In Macbeth,

Macbeth Creative Eulogy Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today to honour a man who was amazing in so many ways. You may have known him since birth, as I have, or you may have only known him a brief time, but in any case, he touched your life. He touched many lives, some with his valiant courage and love, some with his kitchen knives. Although our dear friend Macbeth has passed from this world to the next, there is still much to be learned from him. He always had a kind word for me, and although he was bit intense he was a very special man. His face could have entranced the sirens themselves: such was his beauty and grace. He charmed friends and strangers alike with his wit and warmth. His courage and strength made him a unique man for certain. During battle, he would never lose sight of our goal. He played a key role in the defeat of the Norwegians and served his nation well. Even when he was killing the traitorous Thane of Cawdor, his pain was plainly etched in his face; killing another man was a hardship for this great soul. Such compassion is so rare during wartime. When I had the good fortune to be by his side in battle, he always filled my heart with courage and admiration. Ive known Macbeth since his early years, and he has always shown compassion and understanding beyond that of any other man I know. During his childhood years, he always displayed a rampant ambition, and a kindness rare among young men. His friendship was something to be treasured. Our many days spent together are some of my fondest memories, and the loss of such days fill me with profound sadness and grief. When Macbeth was introduced to his late wife, there was a spark between them Ive never seen before. Macbeth treated his conquest with such respect and delicacy, she couldnt have refused his proposal. They had a very close marriage, and it was filled with love and warmth. It was the kind of union every man hopes hell be blessed with in his lifetime. Lady Macbeth once told me that her husband was the most caring man shed ever met. I believe that prior to Macbeths troubles and strife, that he and his wife had a very healthy relationship. When his wifes mental health was beginning to fail, he could not bear to watch his beloved deteriorate. In the end perhaps it was best that they not go on in life without the other. Their love was deep and beautiful, even if it was incomprehensible at times. I have always modeled myself after this outstanding man, thane, husband and friend. His courage was infinite and his love was boundless. Many may say he was nothing more than a traitor to his King, but I say he was so much more. Look beyond his actions in the later period of his life, and see the man beneath the stony exterior. I beg you to look back at his early years, the years of life filled with joy and love. He was at good man at heart, and although later on life he displayed a darker side, one that even I can not totally dismiss, he was not evil. He cared deeply for his friends and family. In truth, he was just a man, like you or I. He was a man whose circumstances and ambition helped decide his ultimate fate. Even if you abhor his actions, as I do, you can still admire his commitment to his ambitions. He may have killed in cold blood to attain these dreams, but who of us has not considered the thought, even if fleetingly. Perhaps he went too far, but he did go. Many of us will spend our entire lives dreaming, not doing. Please remember that he was nothing more than a human being, with human talents and human faults. Judge his life not by its end, but consider his talents and faults, for even I If Macbeth lacked limits, he was more free than any of us will ever be. Bibliography Shakespeare, William. Macbeth. Team Turmoil Analysis Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 500 words

Team Turmoil Analysis - Essay Example Another challenge was lack of proper team co-ordination, majorly characterized by lack of direction in the manner activities are conducted in the team works for instance procedures of communication. In addition, poor inter-personal skills were a challenge to the effective team work in the group. This was majorly characterized by poor communication skills among the team members seen by instances of interruption of some team members as they expressed their ideas. This could have been attributed by the fact that was no universal team leader who could offer directions regarding how each member expresses his ideas. Alternatives The first alternative that could be applied to solve the issues identified is encouraging each team member to respect the opinions of others. This is imperative owing to the fact that it reduces conflicts that may occur when one is not provided with an opportunity to air his/her ideas. However, this could also create setbacks at some points owing to the fact that group member maybe compelled to accept ideas that are not accurate or invalid. Additionally, team members should communicate their ideas freely; however, this can only be encouraged by a condusive environment. Dereley and Onyielisi did not speak their ideas freely and only kept shrugging at some points; this is not appropriate as it allow other group members to know what others think of their ideas. The major challenge with this alternative is that in some cases, team members may express ideas that are out of the discussion topic.

Can be on anything to do with microbiology (you can choose the topic) Article

Can be on anything to do with microbiology (you can choose the topic) - Article Example Basically, 3 are 3 laboratory tests useful for the diagnosis of dengue infection and they are viral isolation in culture, detection of viral RNA, and specific IgM/IgG antibodies in paired sera. The gold standard for diagnosis is a combination of these 3 tests. However, it is not practice to do all the 3 tests in a patient at a particular setting. Viral isolation is expensive, needs technology and results are obtained after 6 - 10 days, which ia very late for initiation of management and hence this test cannot be used regularly. PCR technique results are ofcourse fast, but are expensive and not available in all clinical settings. Immunochromatographic and ELISA tests for the detection of IgM/IgG antibodies which give results within minutes or few hours, but these antibodies can be detected only after 4-5 days of onset of the disease. Comparing Retribution in Achebe’s Things Fall Apart and Roy’s The God O

Comparing Retribution in Achebe’s Things Fall Apart and Roy’s The God Of Small Things A close look at two novels, Things Fall Apart, and The God Of Small Things, reveals examples of how their authors illustrate that fate supplies retribution for wrongs done. In Chinua Achebe’s novel Things Fall Apart, there are three linked instances of this type of retribution. First, Ikemefuna details an innocent young man who is unknowingly punished for the crime of another person. Second, Okonkwo is exiled from his village for an accidental crime. Achebe suggests that this is more than coincidence, that this is repayment for his intentional murder of the boy who called him â€Å"father.† Finally, it is suggested that this punishment is also a consequence of his excessive pride. Without Okonkwo’s fear of weakness, he could have avoided killing the innocent Ikemefuna. In a completely different continent and time period, Arundhati Roy’s novel The God Of Small Things expresses very similar occurrences of retribution. In Roy’s novel, three pe ople’s lives are altered for the worse because of their involvement in two deaths. Ammu makes selfish and hasty decisions that end up coming back to haunt both her and her children. This in turn influences her children to make similar decisions, which prolong the cycle of punishment in their lives. The first instance of fated punishment we find in Achebe’s novel, Things Fall Apart, is in the death of a teenage boy, Ikemefuna. In this particular example, the burden of the crime is not borne by the guilty party. Ikemefuna, innocent of any crime himself, is forced from his village as payment for the crime of a member of his Mbaino community. More specifically, Ikemefuna’s father was involved i... ...ish. After all, they are set on different continents, and in different time periods. However it is clear that Things Fall Apart, by Chinua Achebe, and The God of Small Things, by Arundhati Roy in truth, share a great deal of common ground. On multiple occasions in each novel, characters experience a grave twist of fate that can be attributed to the selfish actions of themselves or someone close to them. This explains why the most interesting similarity these two novels share is the underlying tension, and tone of fated retribution that is detailed above.   Ã‚   Works Cited 1. Achebe, Chinua. Different strategies Essay

Using guidelines on viewing, interpreting, and evaluating visual imagery, examine a visual image for its meaning. Develop a written analysis and evaluation of the image. The image viewed is that of a building plan of the library. The image contains lines and boxes and labels of the different sections of the building. The image is presented as a whole and viewing it as separate sections would likely destroy the meaning of the image. The image also communicates to the viewer the whole structure of the building and one viewing it can identify his/her spatial location in the building. The image is able to tell the viewer that the building is large, has several entrances and exits, it also tells one the nearest comfort room, librarian’s desk and where a specific book, journal or material is located. Generally, the image is simple and straightforward and is able to communicate to the viewer important information about the library. Explore how different texts require different reading strategies. Select a novel chapter, a textbook chapter, a magazine article and a web page, and engage each text and take appropriate notes. Then, reflect on how the different texts call for similar and different strategies. Taking notes when reading a chapter from a novel is difficult to do, it’s that we have been trained to read a novel as a complete story, and the notes I had were incomplete and did not really tell me what the story is about, it was just a set of conversations I found interesting. Reading a textbook chapter is different because it contains a lot of information and the text is arranged to focus on one topic, hence my notes were many and upon reading it, it was actually a summary of the textbook chapter. A magazine article calls for light reading, and unless one is really looking for specific information, nothing is there for me to take notes. Most of the information in magazine articles is commonsense and opinionated and one is moved to argue against the article or agree with it. Reading a web page is similar to the magazine article, however, one notices that the message is incomplete or there are more articles related to it that taking notes is impossible but one web page leads to another. Reread one of your recent essays. How does the writing show that you thoroughly understood your subject, met the needs of your audience, and achieved your writing purpose? I believe that my essay was able to communicate that I had a good understanding of my topic because the thesis statement was focused and enabled the reader to identify the direction of the essay. Moreover, the essay provided a brief but information-rich discussion of the topic and its background. Then it proceeded to present my arguments and it was backed by existing information from reliable sources. I also was able to provide an alternative argument so that the reader would be given the opportunity to agree or disagree with my arguments. I then finished it with a short summary and conclusion and an invitation to the reader to engage in the same. Review the wording of a recent writing assignment. What are the key words, restrictions, and options? What does the description tell you about the purpose, audience, form, and assessment of the writing? What strategies from this chapter would you use to get started? A recent writing assignment I completed was the personal essay about the most influential person in my life. The key words for the assignment were influential person, inspiration and learning. Since it was a personal essay the only restrictions was that names should not be used, although one could identify the relationship of the person to the writer. The option given was that in the event that one could not identify a person, then it could be a personal experience. The writing assignment implied that it was going to be a personal essay that the use of first person is allowed and that it was casual and emotional and the purpose is to share with readers a very personal part of my life. I would be able to use the brainstorming exercise, as well as the dialogue writing and how to convey emotions in what we write.

THREE MAIN CHARACTER TRAITS IN essays

THREE MAIN CHARACTER TRAITS IN essays There are three main ideas in the novel named The Crucible, by Arthur Miller, which will be discussed. One main point is the use of authority and how it affected the people of Salem, Massachusetts. Leading into the hypocrisy that was displayed by the people of higher authority. The people who were judged by the higher authorities showed courage. First, lets see how the use of authority played out. The use of authority in THE CRUCIBLE was very obvious and direct at times. One example of this is when Reverend Parris uses his authority to obtain material things like golden candle sticks and firewood. He also tries to obtain the deed to the house that was provided for the reverends by the towns people. Danforth is another character who used their authority wrongfully. When he was trying to get a name for a witness out of Giles Corey he said he would hold him in contempt of court and he threatened him with jail time. Giles replied by saying it was a hearing and he could not do that. Danforth then replied sternly stating, Oh it is a proper lawyer! Do you wish me to declare the court now in full session here? Or will you give me a good reply (pg. 90)? As a result the overuse of authority leads them to hypocrisy. Another main idea of THE CRUCIBLE is hypocrisy. It starts when Danforth says to John Proctor, We burn a hot fire here; it melts down all concealment (pg 83). By saying this Danforth meant he was going to find the truth no matter what, even if someone was trying to hide it from him. This gives the idea threat Danforth was going to lead a very honest court room and was going to judge people fairly. This was not the case by the end of the story though. Instead of keeping things fair and just Danforth makes the following statement, I will not receive a single plea for pardon or postponement. Them that will not confess will han ...

Article Example It also assists local and state education organizations in advancing their statistical systems, and examine and report on educational activities in different nations. The main focus of this report is to look at gaps in educational participation and attainment between males and females of different races. This report is relevant to my research in that it will also examine children in poverty and minority groups and education. It asserts that postsecondary attendance rates are largely lower for students from various racial and ethnical groups and lower socioeconomic backgrounds in comparison to Asians and Whites. In 2010, as consistently since 1980, a limited number of male than female 18-24 year olds were either enrolled in graduate school or college. There is also a difference in postsecondary attainment for females and males. According to the report, in 2010, 21% of children under age 18 were living in poverty. The poverty rate for people who were non-white was higher than that of t he white population. This prevented the underprivileged population from accessing higher education (Ross & Kena 2012, p. 5). . According to this resource, students from various groups are not efficiently represented in higher institutions of education in Ontario. In line with the resource, enhancing access to higher education for the underrepresented groups is largely perceived to be necessary in establishing a more equitable society and to challenging in the increasingly knowledge based economy. The last ten years has witnessed a tremendous increase in research on people who are not pursuing higher education, reasons for not attending, and ways to promote their participation. People experience interplay between different complicated barriers. They may be motivational, informational, and financial barriers. Financial barriers comprise debt aversion in an aid system or lack of funds to pursue higher education. Informational barriers entail insufficient information regarding financial assistance, mainly, benefits, and costs. 80% of learners aged between 20 and 24 from households earning more than $100,000 pursue higher education and 60% of learners from households earning below $25,000 pursue higher education. Almost half of youth in the top income quarter attend university in comparison a quarter of the youth in the lower income quartile. Among the recommendations include, one, the Ontario government commit to have secondary school learners visit a campus as part of the curriculum. Two, the government should continue aiding early outreach as a way of acce ssing post-secondary education. Three, the government should set an objective for the education system to augment post-secondary participation rates (College Student Alliance 2011, p. 30). The writer can write any suitable topic relating to what he's Essay

Client Relationship Management - Essay Example It will encompass the details of the topic of discussion on how it has been leveraged by the companies to gain the competitive advantage over the others. It will also contain important industrial examples to justify the statements. The client relationship management (CRM) of an organization involves the interaction of company with its customers and other external business partners. The interactions with the clients are mostly conducted in such a manner that it leads to a long-term working relationship with them. CRM has come to the vanguard of organizational practices only since the last ten years (Ed, 2008). The terminology of CRM may be relatively new, but the underlying concept is being used for a relatively long period of time. The business houses have tried out different forms of customer retention techniques to ensure a steady cash flow and gain a strong position in the industry. However, the CRM that is commonly used today is quite different from that of the past practices. Previously, the employees used to keep track of the loyal customers by memorizing their identities and keeping track of their preferences. This process may be effective in maintaining a good relationship with the customers, leading to customers’ retention by increasing the likelihood of the customers’ return. Over time the business market scenario has changed. This is mostly because of the increased competition from newly developed firms and changing demand of customers. Customer or Client Relationship Management becomes quite difficult when the business of the company starts to grow with the increased customer base and increased product portfolio (Buttle, 2008). It then becomes almost impossible for the employees to memorize the identity and preferences of all the customers. Modern client relationship management is mostly technology driven. There are several CRM softwares available for the firms which can be utilized to track the consumers’ behavior and their purchase pattern (Fjermestad, 2006).
